From our legendary fishing to our superb eateries, Nambucca Heads has something for everyone. Leisurely whale watching from lookouts with easy access, kayaking, paddle boarding and water skiing and much more…

Start your day with an early morning stroll along the river boardwalk out to the V-Wall and chances are you will see our dolphins playing in the surf or fishing in the river.

Located approximately halfway between Sydney to the south and Brisbane to the north drive times to Nambucca Heads have been greatly reduced with the extension and upgrade of the new Pacific Highway.

Bushtucker And Wetland Wildlife Canoe Tour

Valley of the Mist is a real working Bush Tucker Farm set in 42 hectares of beautiful bushland forest.

They grow an amazing variety of native fruits and nuts using low impact sustainable farming methods.

Visitors can see and learn how they work with nature and taste a variety of authentic Indigenous foods.

Take a guided Wetland Wildlife Canoe Tour and explore over 52 hectares of pristine wetland and its fabulous native bird, animal & marine life.

Eungai Buffalo Farm And Cafe

Set overlooking beautiful rolling farmland and lush paddocks, this working farm produces a variety of delicious cheeses, gelato, yoghurt and other buffalo meat products.

Visitors can see a spectacular herd of buffalo up close or from the comfort of our all weather under cover deck and learn how we care for them to produce our unique range of hand crafted gourmet dairy products.

Snorkelling

Put on a mask and snorkel and explore the underwater world.

Well over 90 species of marine fauna make the Nambucca River home - including Dolphins & Turtles!

For the clearest water snorkel at high tide. Ask at reception for advice on the best places to snorkel.

Tourism Drives

Take in the breathtaking beauty of the Nambucca Valley on one of the many tourism drive routes in the area.

Our reception has free maps showing you where to go and what you can see along the way.

Clubs

Nambucca Heads has many social and sporting clubs including the RSL, Nambucca Heads Bowling Club, Golf Club and Leagues Club to mention but a few.

Many of these clubs have dining facilities and welcome visiting guests.

Enjoy Our Uncrowded Beaches

The local beaches along our coastline are some of the best to be found anywhere in Australia. Park your car for free right next to the ocean and stroll for miles along clean un-spoilt beaches.

For your safety please take note:
The sea along our coastline is open ocean - at times large waves and powerful surf can create dangerous currents. Ask at reception for a guide to the safe use of our beaches.

Paddle-boarding And Kayaking

The perfect way to explore the beauty of the Nambucca River. Circumnavigate an island, say hello to a dolphin, watch a sea eagle catch a fish, observe a pelican coming in for a landing…

Pub With No Beer

Step back in time and visit Australia’s most famous Pub - the Pub that made Slim Dusty famous. A comfortable 40 minute drive away through lush green countryside with mountain views along the way.

Whale Watching May - November

Nambucca Heads has a number of good cliff top lookouts where you can see magnificent Humpback Whales as they pass up and down the coastline from the Antarctic to their calving grounds.

The V-Wall

No visit to Nambucca Heads is complete without a leisurely walk along Nambucca’s legendary V-Wall to see the public art on this outdoor break-wall gallery. Bring your paints and feel free to leave your own art message here.

Fishing Tackle Shop

Nambucca Heads is famous for its fishing and just a short walk from Riverside Rest is a well stocked Tackle shop which sells fresh bait and has small boat hire.

Please note:
Permits are required to fish all New South Wales waters. Permits are available from the tackle shop which is open 7 days.

Cafes & Restaurants

Nambucca Heads has a great selection of quality Cafes, Restaurants and Taverns to choose from, many with breathtaking views over the Nambucca River and estuary.

Special Events

There is always something going on in the Nambucca Valley. Many specialty car events are held throughout the year, all culminating in spectacular Show & Shine displays in Nambucca Heads’ Bowra Street.
The Volkswagen Spectacular is held every two years (even years) in early August.
The Hot Rod Show and Shine is on in spring and the Ford Falcons shine early in November.
